1/8 of a Mile

The fog was even thicker this morning out the back door.

In fact when I stepped out the backdoor I could see it was only about 1/8th mile visibility!
The pump jack and our magnificent oak stood out, but barely.

The sun was straining to let its’ rays penetrate the fog.
Bluebirds silhouettes.
Another angle of the magnificent oak!
A dew covered cup ‘n’ saucer spider web!
Framed by another oak!
Now our yellow sun was making progress!
An orbweaver spider web!
Switchgrass!
A cottontail was heading for cover in the brush pile!
The sun and the dew illuminated the orbweaver web.
And all the while I had been watching for the magical moment of a fog bow. It was not the best example I have seen but still made my morning. In case you are having a hard time see it in the photo, my shadow points to it.

  1. The fog is enchanting – all is so much more silent when walking through it. Great shots! But I admit that fog bow is hard to discern!

  4. Foggy landscapes are magical and you captured some great photos! The spider webs are perfect. And I’m not sure I’ve ever heard of a fog bow – thanks for sharing your pic.
