Each time I go out I find something new that is beautiful. Even if it was virtually on the same path I took before.
On Thanksgiving Day before our family arrived I headed back to the same unit. This has been the unit I have been posting about in the previous four posts.
The clouds had rolled in. Furthermore it was just as beautiful with the clouds!
Another Peeling Puffball (Lycoperdon marginatum ) shouts puhpowee with a white fungus/mold edging closer!
On the previous trips I had missed the Round-headed Bush Clover (Lespedeza capitata ).
Then I found the podetia (the stems with the brown part where the spores are) this time on the Cladonia lichen. It was really really tiny!
A Salt Marsh Moth (Estigmene acrea ) caterpillar was moving slowly. It was a bit nippy out.
The head shot to definitely confirm their identity!
Field Goldenrod (Solidago nemoralis ) was re-blooming at the base!
And tiny plant bug was nestled in the flowers. Maybe a Lygus Bug (Lygus ).
Yep, each time new wonders!
