First Frost

Ah the weekend. And it feels like fall, sorta.

A Plume Moth (Pterophoroidea) with long legs.
Narrow-leaf Gayfeather (Liatris punctata var mucronata). It grows from top down which is called determinate. And most of the Liatris are fading now. The fluffy is the noticeable part now for many of them. If you like to make dried flower arrangements, they will hold their flowers and colors for a very long time. However you must cut them before this stage.
The sepals are gorgeous!
Texas Grama (Bouteloua rigidiseta)!
A bee fly, Poecilanthrax lucifer is a real beauty with its fuzzy yellow body and black wings.
This was totally unexpected, frost on the 17th (Thursday). This morning, however we had a low of 53F.
Our weather station said it was 40 degrees that Thursday. However several spots along our path do tend to be colder. This was the temperature on the frosted leaves.

Even though we had our first tiny frost, it looks like the coming week is not going to be very fall like. 🤷🏻‍♀️
