Stuck

A few more highlights from the bottomland!

Love the grays!
The common Ceramic Parchment (Xylobolus frustulatus)!
A cluster of Wolf’s-milk Slime Mold (Lycogala epidendrum)! Yeah it kinda looks like two eyes and nose. 😉
Chocolate Tube Slime Mold (Stemonitis splendens) had already spread its spores!
The Pipevine (Aristolochia tomentosa) had lasso’ed the tree! LOL.
Frostweed (Verbesina virginica) was starting to bloom. And a tiny bee fly stopped in.
This poor little Emperor cat was stuck on last year’s seeds of the Stickseed (Hackelia virginiana). It must have had the unfortunate luck of falling out of the tree above.

For a good 10 minutes we tried to remove it from the sticker seeds of the Stickseed. It took us both to get them off with tweezers and a small twig. As you can see the last sticker was stuck too well. So we stopped as we were afraid we might injury it. We wished it the best.
