Only One
On Monday, the 18th I had offered to lead a Trinity Forks NPSOT walk at Ft. Richardson State Park. But with the short notice I gave and it is the holiday season only Jeanne came. So Jeanne, Jim (morning only) and I enjoyed the day to ourselves.
So when I arrived at the park I had asked for permission to go off trail. I was interested in looking for some plants that might be found at the park. We started near the Kicking Bird Trail which had been the NPSOT walk destination. Since it was just the three of us, we went off trail that day.
So even though only one came today being outside is always worthwhile. Furthermore it is rewarding whether with a group or in solitude when in nature for me.

I love the happy rhino. Really does look like one. And that fence is gorgeous. Wish it was here or one like it.
I’m sad I wasn’t well enough to come. Such fun stuff in this post!
The photos really highlight the scale and construction of those rock fences – cannot begin to imagine how long it took to build them. They are really cool.
Gorgeous day. Interesting article about spoiled trees.
