We feel very lucky to have a little slice of a prairie. The front field used to be farmed for cotton back in the 1930’s. It has Little Bluestem, Indiangrass, other grasses and forbs now. The back field is also going back to natives after fifteen plus years of resting. We still have a lot of non-natives, but a lot of good stuff too.
Keep looking!
The more you know, the more you see and the more you see, the more you know.
So glad the vulture hatched before I left so I could admire it!!
Already found some new homes for lyre leaf sage and Mexican plum babies around town. Going to restore natives in as many yards as will take them!!
Very hissy baby!
It was the parent above us on the roof that was doing the hissing…
Way to go Claire. What a sweet baby. Sure hope nothing happens to it.
